been a little depressed/confused/stressed out lately [blame form 4 life] couldn't even remember my blogger login name *okay, fine not really, but first i typed out "www2.blogger.com" in it and realised something was wrong then started typing "attempt-" in it then i realized i was just being stupid and wrote "thecutecuddlyone@gmail.com" and clacked in my password, then blogger was being mean and pissy by saying "your password was incorrect" or some shit like that and checked to find out that my num-lock wasn't on, really, it's these little things that really make your day worse and you just end up pissed off and pms-ey throughout the whole day. so, yes [for those who actually bother reading the title] today we shall discuss the commonly carried out [whereas not so commonly discussed] topic of retail therapy. Definition : shopping with the primary purpose of improving the buyer's mood or disposition. (1) Often seen in people during periods of depression or transition, it is normally a short-lived habit. Items purchased during periods of retail therapy are sometimes referred to as "comfort buys." basically, whatever happens when Queenie steps into Louis Vuitton^^ oohso, yes, thats the wiki definition, so here's the Queenie definition Definition : walking into a shop with a shitload of money or a far-from-maxed-out credit card [well, you can bring your mum in as well, or anyone who has a credit card for that fact] and buying a shitload of things whereby you have to get all the items shipped to your house because you cant carry them by hand =D SO pretty, but i can almost hear my mum saying "In your dreams" right to my face *drools* I'm getting that one day =P So, retail therapy isnt exactly a 'bad' thing, i mean, at least you're not resorting to other negative means [i.e. drugs, alcohol etc.] to solve your depression right? think of it as a healthy way of getting high [because everyone loves getting high, no?] a few people might think that retail therapy is not the way to battle depression [i mean, just look at the damage it does to your wallet/bank account] but, come on, it's not dangerous, not problematic, and i doubt that you can get HIV Aids from shopping [unless you're shopping for sex but thats a completely different story] and, yes, that concludes this blog post =P ![]() |
