    "Was Shakespeare gay?" students sometimes ask after reading this poem. How teachers respond to this controversial question will probably reveal not only their views about the current debate over sexual identity but also how those views are in many ways reflected in their pedagogical methods. Because this query broaches a number of critical issues that are presently facing the literary academy-issues concerning the place of queer studies in the classroom, the application of current concepts of sexual identity to historical texts, and the social consequences of associating the most canonical author in history with the historically controversial behavior of homosexuality, teachers, in approaching this student's question, must decide not only what answer will be given-what "truth" imparted-but also how that truth will be communicated, if it be a truth at all. Studying the ways we study Shakespeare's Sonnet 20 will illustrate both how sexual politics pervades the accepted "truths" of literary criticism and how methods of pedagogy themselves are implicated in the dissemination of those truths.     i really want to know, what is wrong with the world today? So what if Shakespeare was gay? Are we going to stop appreciating or studying his literature just because of that fact? Let me ask, how many poets of history have gone insane through their writings? Why is it that you wont contradict them for losing their minds but, instead, wrong Shakespeare for being gay?
    so what if he was gay? He was still an extraordinary human being, no? He was still one of us, except just with an exceptional quality. The important thing to focus on is that he, indeed, was one great writer, possibly the greatest of his time. I want to know, what does society find so demoralizing about someone's sexual orientation?
    Ellen Degeneres is gay, but did she hide inside her own closet just because of it? After her fans found out, did they immediately stop attending her shows? Did they show disgust and isolated themselves from her?
    Society is screwed up. What is so different about people with different sexual orientations? Are they going to cause any harm to society, are they going to overrun the country?
    It's not like they can change who they are, right? They were born that way, and it's not like they can influence others to become like them. Do not go against them just because they are a little different than we are, you might be surprised just how many gay's they are in the world.
    Sure, it may be unusual, but whoever set the rule that guys cant be with guys? (or vice versa) . What rule is there in the world that men can only be with women (and vice versa) and cannot be with one another. And dont give me all that "Adam and Eve" crap. I'm not being racist or anything here, but i dont remember reading anything in the bible about banishments of homo's.
    Homo or non-homo, arent we all son's/daughter's of God? Arent we all created as equals? Did Jesus Christ die on the cross just so that a world divided by quote:the 'wrong' way; can be formed?
    Homo's are equals, just as us. if you contradict again homo's, isnt that the same as being racist or sexist? Think about it for a moment. Men and Women are equal. Whether you're black or white or yellow, you are just as normal as the next person. So why cant we eliminate all these feelings and just leave in peace? If we all just set aside a little of our pride for just a second, then the world would be much better off.

    Pissed off? Hell yeah, because of the world today. it really sets me off when you see headlines in the paper like "Muslim gets 100 strokes of rotan for being gay" yeah, fine, lets revert away from that topic.

    Sometimes, i really dont mind being in set 3 English. for one, you get hell of alot less work than set 1's or 2's. i mean, most of the work is done in class, you only get compo for homework if you cant finish it in class, and the only homework i got for Literature is "finish reading The Necklace"
    plus, Marshall doesnt really keep up with her 'first and last warnings'

    Spent the entire day in front of the computer, basically msn-chatting because of some problems revolving leadership/board member qualities. i'll post it up when i get all the necessary chat logs so that you wont have to keep on asking "what happened, what happened???? can send to me? tell me the whole thing!!! blablabla~"

    And, yes, Hana Yori Dango rocks!!! (screw TBS for not allowing it to be uploaded online, now i have to wait for the torrent to finish dloading)

    was tempted to play...but it's developed by Disney...plus it's rated E [and i've learned that any PS game developed by Disney and rated E is crap] well, maybe will play after i bring out my PS2 from the deep scary under-dusk called my 'storage' [havent used it since beginning of December]

    and, gosh, cant wait to play this. going to get it at March, again =.= along with my joystick bwahahaha !!!!

    off to bed, have to be awake for paintball tomorrow
